Why I Use (and Recommend) Squarespace for Wellness Entrepreneurs
If you’re a coach, therapist, or wellness entrepreneur, you probably didn’t start your business because you love tech. (uhhhh….amiright???)
You started your business because you care about helping people — and you wanted the freedom to do meaningful work on your own terms.
But somewhere along the way, you realized that your way to help more people was to have a professional website where more of them could find you online.
So, you start googling to figure out the right platform, you begin to set up your website, connect your booking links, and make your “About” page look good, and somewhere along the line you may have started to wonder if you needed a degree in web design just to get your business online.
I get it. That was me, many many years ago now. And, it’s the story I hear from so many of the wellness entrepreneurs I’ve worked with over the years. I see the same story again and again: you’re passionate, brilliant at what you do, literally out there changing people’s lives but totally drained by the tech side.
That’s why I build every single one of my templates — and every custom site I design — on Squarespace.
It’s the only platform I consistently recommend for coaches, therapists, and wellness business owners because it’s simple, powerful, and built to support your work — not distract from it.
Let’s talk about why.
1. Simplicity & Ease of Use
Squarespace is built for real people, not web developers.
Most website platforms are designed for people who understand coding, plugins, widgets, bots and servers. Squarespace isn’t. Squarespace is made for people who just want their website to work without having to know all that stuff.
The drag-and-drop editor makes it incredibly easy to move things around, change photos, and update text without fear of “breaking” anything.
If you can use Canva, you can edit your Squarespace site.
That’s a big deal when you’re juggling sessions, scheduling clients, and trying to squeeze in marketing between it all.
Your time and energy belong in your practice — not buried in tutorials about hosting or WordPress plugins.
2. It grows as your business evolves.
Many of my clients start small: one service, a simple contact page, maybe a blog they “might” get to later. And then — things start to grow.
They add workshops.
They launch digital products.
They start a podcast or build an email list.
Squarespace grows right along with them.
You can easily add pages for:
Online booking or scheduling (through tools like Acuity or Calendly or Paperbell)
Digital products or courses
Email newsletter sign-ups
Blog posts or articles to boost SEO
Podcasts or embedded media
Everything happens within one platform — no outside apps, no extra hosting, no expensive developer every time you want to make a change.
And, did I mention that it’s simple to use!?!?! So you can manage all of these changes and upgrades yourself! You don’t need to have a designer or retainer or any of that nonsense. :)
3. The designs actually feel right for wellness brands.
If you’ve ever looked at a website and thought, “That just doesn’t feel like me,” you’re not imagining it.
Most templates on the internet are designed for big agencies or ecommerce stores — not for small, heart-led wellness brands.
That’s why I design every Template in The Wellness Site Shop with wellness entrepreneurs in mind.
The colors, layouts, and flow are all intentional: calming, grounded, and human.
Squarespace makes it easy to showcase your expertise without ever feeling pushy or “salesy.” It lets your message breathe.
Your photos, your words, and your energy take center stage — exactly as they should.
4. SEO and blogging are built right in (and easier than you think).
There’s a myth that Squarespace “isn’t good for SEO.” It’s simply not true.
Squarespace gives you every tool you need to optimize your site and show up in search results:
Clean, mobile-friendly design
Fast loading times
Custom page titles and meta descriptions
Alt text for images
SSL security
Built-in blogging with categories, tags, and RSS feeds
That last one — blogging — is huge for wellness entrepreneurs.
Writing articles or sharing resources isn’t just great for SEO; it builds trust. It helps your potential clients get to know you, and gives them a chance to feel out if you’re the right person for them. You’ll hear this referred to a lot as Know-Like-Trust factor - it is the idea that as people get to know you, and begin to like you, it will build trust and then sales become easier because you’ve already built up that Know-Like-Trust factor and you don’t have to start from scratch with that on a sales call.
Squarespace makes it easy to add a new post, upload a podcast, or publish a short thought — no tech help required.
Your website stays active, and Google rewards you for it.
And if any of this DIY stuff feels intimidating, that’s exactly what my 2-Day Website Install Service is designed for: getting you launched quickly and setting up your site the right way with help from our team.
5. Squarespace is secure, stable, and taken care of for you.
With WordPress, you’re responsible for hosting, backups, security, and plugin updates. (which happen a lot more than you’d expect… trust me…)
With Squarespace, all of that is handled automatically.
That means no scary “site down” moments, no broken plugins, and no spammy comment sections.
You can focus on your business instead of acting like your own IT department.
6. You don’t need to be “good at tech” to have a professional website.
This is the biggest one.
So many coaches and healers tell me, “I just want my site to look legit — like I take my work seriously.”
And that’s exactly what Squarespace allows.
With a professionally designed template (like the ones in my shop), you can have a site that looks like you invested thousands — without actually doing that.
You don’t have to choose between DIY and design that converts.
You can have both.
What about WordPress or Showit?
This question comes up all the time — and it’s a fair one.
WordPress is incredibly powerful, but it’s also high-maintenance. It’s best suited for large businesses that can afford ongoing developer support. (My true opinion, based on far too much experience with it - it’s a pain in the ass and way overrated.)
Showit is beautiful but often more expensive (and requires more setup time).
Squarespace hits the sweet spot:
Professional-grade design
Easy for beginners
Affordable and all-in-one
Reliable customer support
Long-term stability
For wellness entrepreneurs — people who value ease, connection, and authenticity — it’s hands-down the best choice.
Final Thoughts
A great website doesn’t have to be complicated.
It doesn’t have to take months, or thousands of dollars, or a stack of sticky notes to “figure out.”
You deserve a website that reflects who you are, works beautifully behind the scenes, and helps you grow your practice with confidence.
That’s why I’ll always recommend Squarespace — and why every site I build starts there.
